I am presently employed as an Office/Personnel Manager for a classic car company in Heanor. After having retired from the NHS my wife and I relocated to Ripley. During my career I have gained relevant experience in the private, public and voluntary sectors including leading two national organisations and supporting many locally based groups.
I passionately believe that everyone should have a fair opportunity for education, employment and health services. I believe that our local heritage should be built upon rather than destroyed as some would.
In Derbyshire I have worked for a charity providing help and support for autistic children and their families. I have also been involved in a local heritage group and am a Governor on a local school.
Having been married for more than 40 years with 7 grandchildren I realise the importance of maintaining and supporting families, especially in difficult times.
Having gained a degree as a mature student, I believe that education should be available to all without cost or expense standing in the way of those who want to improve themselves.
