I was elected to Ripley Town Council in 2017. I was driven by the desire to help make our town the best it can be as a place to live, work and visit.
I’m very supportive of the many community events that take place throughout the year. These events are really important in creating a strong community and improving our quality of life. They also bring people into the town and help support local businesses. One of the threats to our town is the loss of green space and the increase in traffic though large scale housing developments.
While I’ll support sensible housing development I will continue to fight against plans that will impact on our quality of life and green spaces. It’s important that people feel safe. I will keep working for a safer community, reporting and challenging crime and anti social behaviour when I see it and encouraging everyone to support the police my reporting crimes.
I am self employed and run a commercial photography business.
I’m a member of several business groups including the Chamber of Commerce, Destination Chesterfield and Erewash partnerships. I have strong links to local and regional businesses and a strong local economy that benefits all of us is one of my priorities
I love the outdoors and am a keen runner and walker. As someone who spends much of my time in the countryside around the township of Ripley, I fully appreciate the importance of our heritage and environment. It it very much incumbent on us to protect both.
I’ve always been a regular participant in local sports clubs and have seen first hand the benefits to physical and mental health of being active. I’m a member of Ripley Running Club and South Yorkshire Outdoor Swimmers. I lead runs around the local area and organise social events.
