Councillor Tony Holmes
(Butterley Ward)

01773 742574

I have been a Town Councillor for 9 years (elected in 2011) and in 2019, I was honoured to serve as the Town Mayor to represent the Township until May 2021.

2019 was a very busy year as Mayor. I attended many varied events and met many people who devote so much of their time helping others. Due to Coronavirus, many events had to be cancelled therefore my diary was pretty quiet, but I continuted to support local groups as best as I could.

As Mayor, I nominated two local charities that I raised money for. They were Ripley Hospital League of Friends and Derbyshire Air Ambulance.

I am involved in various community groups, such as the Friends of Ripley Greenway, ensuring the Greenway is a pleasant and tidy place to enjoy and Ripley Music Festival, the biggest free community event in the township.

Tony is on the following Ripley Town Council Committees:
Certificate of Merit
Employment
Environment and Regeneration
Events
Planning
Financial Grants
Finance and Management

Cllr Holmes represents Ripley Town Council on the Derbyshire Association of Local Councils and the Amber Valley Parish Liaison Committee.
