Alwyn was elected to Ripley Town Council in 2011. He became a Councillor to try to make a difference in his Ward for all the people that live there. He wanted them to have a voice on Ripley Town Council.  He says he is always available, 24/7.

He was Mayor of Riply in 2012 and again in 2015.

Alwyn is on the following Ripley Town Council committees:
Events
Planning
Heritage

Alwyn likes to be involved in all groups young or old. He likes to take holidays with his wife, he's a keen gardener and likes taking bus trips. He helps and supports charities and likes to watch most sports on TV and being there for his family.

He is a member of Ripley Heritage Trust, Field Terrace Community, Ripley Twinning Association, Marehay Miners Welfare and Friends of Ripley Greenway.

Alwyn would like to try to improve the Ripley Township by working hard reporting issues in our township to other councils, doing litter picks in and around the township and talking to residents that may have questions.
