Local Community groups 

There are plenty of friendly local groups in the Ripley Township where new members are always encouraged to join and take part.

The branch promotes real ale and cider actively encouraging and supporting the 92 pubs and micros within its boundaries and recognising their importance in social cohesion and well-being.  
 
We organise the running of real ale and cider at local beer festivals e.g. Belper Goes Green with our own equipment (stillages, beer ordering and labour).  
 
The branch is run entirely by volunteers who visit and monitor real ale /cider outlets; annual pub + cider pub of the year competitions take place with winners going ahead into county, regional and national heats.  
 
We also, carry out pubs’ surveys such as in Aug. 24 around Belper’s 42.

Belper Shed, based in Ripley, provides a social and creative space for men and women to make, create and find community. We offer arts and crafts, woodworking, metalwork, sewing, painting. Members can choose activities that interest them. We host social events such as film nights. The Shed is part of the UK Men's Sheds Association which promotes the therapeutic benefits of making and creating on mental health.

We consist of like minded people who enjoy riding motorcycles and partying, all to raise money for local charities. We attend other clubs, rallies and functions, going out on rides and organising our own event "The Old Goat's Grumble" held in Denby over August Bank Holiday.

The aim of the MCT is to bring the community of Marehay together by holding an annual village show- The Marehay Show at Marehay Park, and to promote other such charitable purposes as appropriate. To do this we hold fundraising events through the year. 
 
The Marehay Community Trust also organise the Marehay Pumpkin Trail. A trail bringing the community together on Halloween night whereby people can follow a virtual trail of decorated houses in Marehay.

Ripley Bridge Club is affiliated to the English Bridge Union and the Derbyshire Contract Bridge Association.  
 
The Wednesday session is a Beginner/Improver session of supervised practice, instruction and play held under the direction of Phil Upton, MEBUTA. The session comprises a short introduction to a topic of interest, followed by duplicate on a 'Draw for Partner' basis so singles are welcome.  
 
Visitors are welcome, except for the following competition nights: Teams of 4 (some Mondays during the winter months) Pairs competition (2 Mondays in September). 
 
Training courses are available for beginner's.
