The branch promotes real ale and cider actively encouraging and supporting the 92 pubs and micros within its boundaries and recognising their importance in social cohesion and wellbeing.
We organise the running of real ale and cider at local beer festivals e.g. Belper Goes Green with our own equipment (stillages, beer ordering and labour).
The branch is run entirely by volunteers who visit and monitor real ale /cider outlets; annual Pub + Cider Pub of the year competitions take place with winners going ahead into county, regional and national heats.
We also, carry out pubs’ surveys such as in Aug. 24 around Belper’s 42.

Ripley Bridge Club is affiliated to the English Bridge Union and the Derbyshire Contract Bridge Association. The Wednesday session is a Beginner/Improver session of supervised practice, instruction and play held under the direction of Phil Upton, MEBUTA. The session comprises a short introduction to a topic of interest, followed by duplicate on a 'Draw for Partner' basis so singles are welcome. Visitors are welcome, except for the following competition nights: Teams of 4 (some Mondays during the winter months) Pairs competition (2 Mondays in September).
