Ripley Town Council, along with Amber Valley Borough Council and Alfreton, Loscoe & Heanor and Belper Town Councils are encouraging our residents to grow sunflowers.

As a beacon of hope after what has been a challenging year, we would like to brighten up Amber Valley and ask that you help us achieve this by planting sunflower seeds and placing the plant(s) in front of your home for all to appreciate. They can be in your garden or in pots.

Seeds can be purchased from local garden centres, markets, local shops with a gardening section or they are being given away for free at Morrisons supermarkets (subject to availability).

Guidance on when and how to plant sunflower seeds can be found here https://bit.ly/2OMTUq9

We would love to see photos of your sunflowers when they are in full bloom and we will create a photo album of them all on our Facebook page. Please send photos via the 'Message' button on this page or email them to deputyclerk@ripleytowncouncil.gov.uk

We can't wait to see them!
