On Saturday 24th July 2021, the Mayor of Ripley, Councillor Roland Emmas-Williams and his Consort, Mrs. Sheila Emmas-Williams were honoured to be invited to officially open the new Grow Outside CIC facility at Midland Railway-Butterley.
He said, 'It is an honour and a privilege to have been invited along today as the Mayor of Ripley Town Council, to officially open your community garden gates to the public for the very first time'.
He added, 'I understand that Grow Outside CIC have only just recently moved into their new Headquarters here at Butterley Station, courtesy of the Midland Railway Trust and it would appear that they are settling in well. May I thank Claire and Kirsty for being with us today and I can’t wait for them to show us around the gardens, before sampling the tea and cakes, looking at the activities, inspecting the plants and joining in the prize draw later'.
