Councillor Paul Lobley BEM
New Year Honour for Councillor 
We are thrilled to announce that the former Mayor of Ripley and current Town Councillor, Paul Lobley has been awarded a BEM in the New Year’s Honours List. 
This award, the BEM is in recognition of his services to the community in Derbyshire. 
Councillor Lobley, who lives in Heage with his family, has an extensive background in the voluntary sector. He has previously volunteered for 10 years with Ripley based charity, Derbyshire Carers Association and many local groups including St. Luke’s Church in Heage, Babington Hospital League of Friends, Heage Speed Watch, Heage Primary School, Heage Cubs and Leonard Cheshire Eastern Region, to name a few. 
Councillor Lobley said, “I was greatly humbled to have been put forward for an honour. Over the years, I have worked alongside groups of amazing people who have generously given their time for the benefit of others. The medal will serve to remind me that I have had the privilege of being just one small cog in that huge selfless machine supporting our communi
