Mayors Charity Night success
On 7th February 2023, the Mayor of Ripley, Councillor Nigel Weaving and his Consort Phyllis Weaving hosted a charity fundraising dinner at Greenwich Community Sports Hub in Ripley.
The Mayor's chosen charities for his term as Mayor are Amber Valley Stroke Group and Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance.
The evening raised £900.00 from the sale of tickets to the dinner and raffle tickets that were sold. This money will be split equally between the two charities.
Councillor Weaving would like to thank the following people:
▪️Cris Weightman and staff from Ripley's Fish & Chips for providing delicious food, free of charge.
▪️Kevin and Denise Quillan for entertaining guests with their wonderful music.
▪️Councillor Paul Lobley for providing the comedy entertainment!
▪️The crew serving refreshments at Greenwich Community Sports Hub
▪️All the local traders and members of the community who kindly donated prizes for the raffle.
▪️Everyone that purchased a raffle ticket. (All winners will be notified in due course)
▪️All the guests, which included representatives from local community groups and charities for buying tickets for the event and supporting the Mayor’s chosen charities.
