At the Annual Meeting of Ripley Town Council on 4th May 2021, the new Ripley Mayor was elected. 
Ripley Town Council are pleased to announce that Councillor Roland Emmas-Williams has taken the role of Mayor of Ripley for one year. The new Deputy Mayor is Councillor Nigel Weaving
Councillor Emmas-Williams lives in Ripley with his wife and Consort, Mrs. Sheila Emmas-Williams. Many people will already know the Emmas-Williams’ as both have been Mayor of Ripley before. This is Cllr Roland Emmas-Williams’ fourth time as Mayor of Ripley. 
The Mayor has chosen two local charities to support during his time in office. They are Midland Railway Trust and Butterley Ironworks Trust. He has a keen interest in the history of Ripley and its wonderful heritage and tourism. 
Cllr. Emmas-Williams said, ‘It is a privilege and honour to have been elected as the Mayor of Ripley Town Council for the ensuing year. I look forward to meeting people from all parts of the Township.’ 
He added, ‘I hope that the residents and local businesses across the township, recover from the Covid pandemic and I wish to pass on my deepest condolences to all the families who have lost loved ones to this terrible virus’. 
As Covid restrictions ease over the coming months, and local groups, businesses, schools and charities are able to hold meetings and events, the Mayor and his Consort look forward to attending local engagements.
