On 23rd October 2023, the Deputy Mayor of Ripley, Councillor Nigel Weaving, and his Consort, Councillor Phyllis Weaving, were invited to Sainsbury’s in Ripley to purchase the first poppy of the year.

Representatives from the Ripley & District Royal British Legion kindly invited them to mark the launch of this year’s Poppy Appeal.

As a community, we are truly grateful to the Ripley and District Royal British Legion for organising this important annual appeal and for displaying the lamppost poppies throughout the town centre.

Ripley Town Council would also like to extend sincere thanks to Clarity Window Cleaning Services Derbyshire for once again putting up the Remembrance flags along Oxford Street in the town.

Details about the Ripley Remembrance Parade and Service on Sunday 9th November can be found here.

Thank you for your continued support for the Poppy Appeal.

Poppies can now be purchased from various Ripley Town Centre businesses, including the Co-op and Sainsburys.
