Yes, absolutely!
The Hub is available to hire for parties, celebrations, meetings, community
activities, training sessions and more.
Our function room can accommodate up to 100 people standing, with seating for approximately 70 people. The exact capacity will depend on your event and room layout. Check out our room layout guide here.
Hire charges vary depending on the type and length of your booking. Please see above for our current hire rates.

The Hub offers a range of facilities, including a variety of tables and chairs, a well-equipped kitchen, free Wi-Fi, a PA system, projector and screen, a Bluetooth surround-sound speaker system and a TV.
Yes. We have free on-site parking for approximately 50 vehicles, subject to availability.
Yes. The Hub has step-free access and accessible facilities. If you have any specific accessibility requirements, please let us know when booking so we can help make your visit as straightforward as possible.
Yes. Baby changing facilities are available.
Yes. We have kitchen facilities perfect for you to prepare food and drinks for your booking including glasses, cups, plates, bowls, cutlery, baking trays, washing up liquid and tea towels.
Yes. The Hub has a licensed bar and we can provide a staffed bar for your event. The bar can serve alcohol until 9.30pm Sunday to Thursday and 10.30pm Friday and Saturday.
The Hub operates a Challenge 25 policy when selling alcoholic drinks.
Yes. You can play your own music using our Bluetooth surround-sound speaker system or arrange suitable entertainment, subject to the Hub's hire terms and any applicable requirements.

Yes. We welcome regular bookings from community groups, clubs, classes and organisations. Please contact us to discuss your requirements and availability.
You will have access to the venue during the time you have booked. Your booking time includes your arrival, setting up, the event itself and clearing away afterwards, so please allow enough time within your booking for everything you need to do.
Yes. Your booked time includes setting up before your event and clearing the room afterwards. The venue must be left clean, tidy and ready for the next hirer by the end of your booking. If you need additional time for setting up or clearing away, please include this when making your booking.
Greenwich Community Sports Hub is not permanently staffed. The venue will be opened and access arrangements will be provided for your booking. Hirers should arrive at the agreed start time and follow the access arrangements provided with their booking. Please do not arrange for a caterer, entertainer or other supplier to arrive before the hirer unless this has been agreed with us in advance.
The person making the booking is responsible for the venue and everyone attending during the booking. This includes ensuring that the facilities are used appropriately, following the hire terms and conditions, keeping the venue safe and tidy, and reporting any damage, accidents or other issues to us. The hirer must also ensure that the venue is vacated and left in the required condition at the end of the booking.
Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to cancel or change your booking. Cancellations, refunds and changes are subject to our current hire terms and conditions.
Yes, bouncy castles may be used but outdoors only and must be suitable for the available space and weather conditions.
Yes. The outdoor space at Greenwich Community Sports Hub can be hired separately without hiring the main function room. It can be suitable for activities such as outdoor exercise classes, yoga, running groups and other organised community activities.
As the outdoor space is also used for cricket and football, all outdoor bookings are subject to availability and the suitability of the proposed activity. Please contact us to discuss your requirements and availability.
Our History
Greenwich Community Sports Hub in Ripley, Derbyshire was developed as part of the effort to secure the long-term future of the Nottingham Road recreation ground as a centre for sport and community activity.
Owned by Ripley Town Council and managed by the Ripley Recreation Ground Charity, the hub provides modern facilities for local sports clubs, including Ripley Town Football Club and Butterley United Cricket Club.
The current pavilion and community building, opened in 2019, was designed not only for football and cricket but also as a welcoming venue for meetings, events, classes, and other community activities, helping preserve the site as an important sporting and social hub for Ripley residents.
